Coming Events

Sunday Message Series
Esther was a Jewish woman who lived in a time and place where image and consumption were supreme. How do you survive and make a difference in a bizarre culture? Our study of the book of Esther each Sunday will help us answer that for our own lives.

Open Mike Night
Come and enjoy an evening of great music and fun on our Abundant House Open Mike Night, Saturday, May 15, 8 p.m. Invite your friends!

Sunday Adult Classes
A Bible discussion class will be delving into our Reformed heritage by reading excerpts from John Calvin's writings alongside passages of Scripture. The overall theme will be "Sovereign Hope" and will include such topics as: How can we know God? What does it mean to be chosen by God? and How do I face death? Lee Anne Millinger is leading this course at 11:30 each Sunday in the chapel.

For those who wonder when to say yes and when to say no there will be a course on "Boundaries", looking into the Biblical principles of taking charge of your life. Jan Langwig leads this at 11:30 each Sunday in the lounge.

Wednesday Small Groups
What is a small group? It is a gathering of four to 12 people for study, discussion, laughter, friendship, and mutual support. Participants find it a place to bring your questions, be yourself and grow in your faith. Two small groups meet on Wednesday evenings. They always have an empty chair and they invite you to come along on the adventure.
The Growth Group is discussing "Life Changing Stories from the Old Testament" at 7:00 p.m. in the lounge.
The Red Group meets on the third floor of the CE building. They are looking at "Transformation: Letting God Change you from the Inside Out" at 7:30 p.m..

Bake Sales
The Presbyterian Women will have baked goods on sale May 23. Enjoy wonderful home baked delicacies as you help support the retreat in June.

First Presbyterian Church to Be Honored
The Clinton Valley Council of the Boy Scouts has chosen FPC to be one of the organizations to be honored at its annual Achievers Luncheon on May 20 at the Main Event in the Silverdome. The award will recognize the community service this congregation has performed for many years. Tickets for the luncheon are available from Bob or Rick Newill for $45, which will help further scouting activities in and around Pontiac.

Pardon Our Dust
We are currently inconvenienced by having our elevator out of service while it receives a complete overhaul and makeover. The project should be finished on or about May 19, and we will all enjoy a much more attractive and reliable elevator for many years to come. The service will be on television in the lounge until the elevator is available again.

Wednesday Small Groups
What is a small group? It is a gathering of four to 12 people for study, discussion, laughter, friendship, and mutual support. Participants find it a place to bring your questions, be yourself and grow in your faith. Two small groups meet on Wednesday evenings. They will be starting new studies after Easter and invite you to come along on the adventure. The Red Group meets on the third floor of the CE building. They will begin to look at "Transformation: Letting God Change you from the Inside Out" on April 14th at 7:30 p.m. The Growth Group will begin discussing "Life Changing Stories from the Old Testament" on April 21st at 7:30 p.m. in the lounge.

Contemporary Worship
Each Saturday evening we gather to praise God using heartfelt modern music and down to earth messages from scripture. If you like a casual, yet authentic atmosphere to enjoy God's presence, you will appreciate our contemporary service Saturdays at 5:30 p.m.
